There may come a time when you begin to wonder whether another fostering agency might be a better fit for you and your family.
Can I Change Fostering Agencies?
Yes. Foster carers can consider transferring from one fostering provider to another.
We understand that even thinking about changing agencies can feel like a big decision, particularly if you currently have a child or young person living with you.
There are established processes around transferring, and the needs and wellbeing of any child in placement remain an important consideration throughout.

Finding the Right Fit for You
Every fostering agency is different, and every foster family is different too. As an experienced foster carer, you may already have a good idea of what matters most to you. You might want to know more about the support available, opportunities for training, communication with social workers or the general culture of an agency. Ideal Fostering is an independent fostering agency serving the West Midlands, Staffordshire and surrounding areas.
Our approach is centred around family-based care, supporting foster carers and keeping the individual needs of children and young people at the heart of what we do. We recognise foster carers as important partners in providing care for children and young people, and we value the experience, knowledge and understanding that established carers can bring.
Support That Matters
Fostering can bring incredibly positive experiences, but there can also be difficult days, unexpected situations and times when having someone available to talk to really matters.
Ideal Fostering provides its foster carers with access to supervising social workers, placement support workers, training and out-of-hours support.
Our team works alongside carers and liaises with local authority social workers and other professionals involved in supporting children and young people.
We also recognise that support is not only about being there when something goes wrong. Good communication, ongoing learning and having opportunities to discuss your experiences can all be valuable parts of fostering.
If, after finding out more, you decide that you would like to explore transferring to Ideal Fostering, there is a formal process to follow.
This can involve giving notice to your existing fostering service, discussions between the relevant agencies and professionals, and consideration of any children currently in your care.
